Kansas City residents can’t say they don’t have a chance to have input into the city budget.

The city is hosting public hearings, a live Twitter budget chat, and opportunities to submit online feedback.

And Mayor Sly James, City Manager Troy Schulte, City department directors and budget staff will be available to respond to the public’s input and questions about the spending plan.

The city says the budget submitted Feb. 11 aligns with the goals established as part of the Citywide Business Plan aimed at greater financial stability. It also proposes a comprehensive $10 million bond issue to eliminate the City’s approximately 800 registered dangerous buildings over a the next two years
