Here’s the latest from news about bus service:
Due to poor road conditions the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (ATA) is offering very minimal bus service this morning. At this time, we are encouraging customers to stay home and postpone travel if possible. The roads and sidewalks are dangerous. Snow is continuing to fall and strong winds are blowing snow.
Express routes have been canceled for today.
“Safety is our first priority,” said Mark Huffer, KCATA general manager. “We want our customers to put their safety first, and avoid unnecessary travel at this time. We hope to provide more service later today.”
Customers should check current Metro information before traveling. A suspension of service will be a last resort. Customers should also make sure their destination is open, as many offices, retail centers and other businesses have decided to close this morning.
Johnson County Transit and Unified Government Transit announced they are not operating any routes today, Tuesday, Feb. 26. Inde-Bus in Independence has a delay in service until at least 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
