Wine could be coming to city market

You might soon be able to buy bottles of locally-made wine at the city market.

The city council’s public safety committee on Wednesday advanced an ordinance that would create a new type of permit that allows it.

The full city council will consider the measure on July 10.

Meghan Buum, marketing manager for the city market, said that one vendor there makes wine on a farm and would sell it.

Others will also sell it, attracting more people and revenue to the market, she said.

The temporary catering permits would last up to 120 hours, officials said.
