Get a close-up view and the stories behind Kansas City’s stained glass windows at the Westport Library Nov. 8, as part of the Westport Historical Society Speaker Series.
Photographer and historian Bruce Matthews is the featured speaker. He’ll present his collection of color photographs of windows found in both the most famous and the least known historic structures still standing in Kansas City. The windows are part of his new book, Windows of Kansas City.
The book includes the photos and stories of churches, schools, hospitals, restaurants, public buildings and private homes in Kansas City, Atchison, Lawrence, Leavenworth and Topeka, Kansas as well as Lexington and St. Joseph, Missouri.

- Bruce Matthews will speak at the Westport Library, 118 Westport Road on Saturday, November 8th at 2pm. Free Admission. A speaker’s reception will follow at the Harris Kearney House, 40th & Baltimore. The public is invited.
