Midtown homeless services program, Neighbor2Neighbor, is planning a remembrance of its executive director.

Doug McNally died on Monday, December 16, following a brief illness.

The Board of Directors of Neighbor2Neighbor is planning a time of remembrance to be held on Saturday afternoon, January 11, 2014, at 1:00 p.m in the sanctuary of the church building that houses Neighbor2Neighbor, at 40th and Washington in Westport.

Neighbor2Neighbor serves an average of 270 meals a day and helps homeless and near-homeless people find care. It also operates a thrift shop where needy folks can get free clothing.

McNally became director of Neighbor2Neighbor in the fall of 2004.

The organization says the remembrance will be an opportunity for neighbors, volunteers, staff, and other supporters in the community to express their appreciation for the work McNally did as he worked side by side with neighbors.

Neighbor2Neighbor board chair Susan Vogel says its work will continue.

Gifts in memory of Doug McNally can be made to Neighbor2Neighbor (N2N) and mailed to N2N, PO Box 32913, Kansas City MO 64171.
