Westport concert features flute/organ duo

ana-maria-hernandez (1)The next Westport Center for the Arts Brown Bag Concert features flutist Ana Maria Hernandez and organist Andres Mojica. They’ll perform at 12:10 p.m. Friday, April 17, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 Westport Road.

Hernadez and Mojica perform regularly in the United States and the Caribbean, including performances at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and St. John the Divine in New York City, the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan, and Bales Recital Hall in Lawrence, Kan.

Hernandez is a solo piccoloist with the Puerto Rico Symphony and is currently pursuing a doctor of musical arts degree at the University of Kansas. Mojica is organist and a professor at the University of Puerto Rico and is currently the organist at Unity Temple and Keystone Methodist Church in Kansas City. He is pursuing a doctor of musical arts degree at the University of Kansas.

Concert admission is free, but donations are welcome. A complimentary reception hosted by Westport Coffee House, featuring homemade cookies, will be held immediately after the concert.
