Storm Debris Drop-Off
Kansas City’s leaf and brush drop-off sites will be open through July 12, free of charge to KCMO residents (Closed on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5). Hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Targeted Curbside Pickup
City crews will conduct curbside leaf and brush collection in areas that have been most impacted by the recent storm. This collection area covers 80 percent of reports of damaged trees called-in to the 311 Action Center. The collection is for downed branches only, please do not set out bags of leaves or other brush. All collections should be placed at the curbside by July 6, 2015.
Curbside collection will begin on July 6, 2015 for the following targeted areas:
North: N.E. Englewood Rd. to the Missouri River; 169 Hwy. to N. Brighton Ave.
South: Missouri River to 63rd St.; State Line Rd. to Blue Ridge Cut-Off.
Residents participating in curbside leaf and brush collection must adhere to the following rules:
• Bundles must be placed curbside by July 6, 2015. Curbside pick-up will take several weeks to complete.
• Unlimited bundles will be accepted. There will be no weight or bundle limit for this pick up.
• Branches less than three inches in diameter should be collected into bundles no more than 4 feet long and 2 feet wide.
• Branches larger than 3 inches in diameter may be set out, and should be cut into pieces no longer than 4 feet long and 2 feet wide.
• Use twine or jute rope to tie bundles; do not use wire or plastic tape.
Trash Amnesty & Bulky Item Pick up
All residents are eligible for Kansas City’s semi-annual trash amnesty the week of July 6-10. City-wide trash amnesty allows residents to place up to 15 bags of trash for collection. This trash will be collected during regularly scheduled trash days. No household hazardous waste, bulky items or leaf and brush will be collected as part of trash amnesty.
Bulky Item pickups have been suspended for the month of July so that crews can focus on City-wide storm debris removal. Residents who have a previously scheduled July pickup date must call the 311 Action Center to reschedule. Due to large call volumes, residents are encouraged to reschedule bulky pick-ups online; calls to reschedule should be made near the end of July.
Fallen Trees
Kansas City’s 311 Action Center is available to accept reports of trees and large debris which may have fallen in the public right-of-way. Due to large call volumes, residents are encouraged to visit the 311 Action Center online, where they can also see if a report has already filed for a given location.
