Tornado sirens set for testing Tuesday, March 3

city-hallDon’t be alarmed when you hear the city’s tornado sirens going off on Tuesday. Even though there’s still snow on the ground, the city is participating in Missouri’s Severe Weather Awareness week, in preparing for the spring tornado season.

For residents, that means the sirens will be tested on Tuesday, March 3 at 1:30 p.m. The sirens are usually tested at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays.

And on Friday, city hall will have a tornado drill at 1:30. All employees and visitors will be directed to the emergency shelter, and offices like the 311 Action Center will be closed from about 1:15-1:45 p.m. to participate in the tornado drill.
