Thanksgiving run benefits Hyde Park Pilgrim Center

Registration is open for the Pilgrim Run, an annual Midtown event that benefits the Pilgrim Center in Hyde Park.

Pilgrim logo 2013This event is expected attract 1500 runners and walkers this year. It begins and ends at 38th and Gillham in front of the Pilgrim Chapel, with music, food and drink at then finish line. The winners receive medals ( in some cases pumpkin pies) for their race results as well as for best costumes.

There is also a children’s race, the Pilgrim Dash, for those 8 years and younger.

Pilgrim Run is sponsored by many businesses and organizations including Buttonwood Financial Group, the National Center for Drug Free Sport, Inc. and the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association. Funding is also received from the Neighborhood Tourist Development Fund.

Proceeds from the Pilgrim Run will benefit children’s programming sponsored by Pilgrim Center including the Hyde Park Spring Frolic and the Hyde Park Children’s Film Festival.

Details

  • Register early (by November 14th) and save. Early registration fees begin at $25 with discounts for team entries. Entry fees will increase to $30 after the early registration period and $35 on race day.   Once registered, you may pick up your registration packet, which includes a long-sleeve brightly colored Pilgrim Run t-shirt, the day before the race at Pilgrim Chapel (from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) or the morning of the race before the event begins. Registration for the Children’s Pilgrim Dash is $12 and includes a t-shirt.
  • Thursday (Thanksgiving), November 27th at 9:00 a.m. (Registration packets may be picked up at Pilgrim Chapel on Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. and the day of the race between 7:30-8:30 a.m.)
