Study to address Armour parking and biking

Residents are invited to get involved in a study of how to improve parking and bicycling on Armour Boulevard.

The city is starting a study of ways to make Armour Boulevard better for parking and biking.

With lots of new residents in the rehabbed apartments along Armour, parking has started to become an issue for some residents.

The boulevard is also an important east/west bike route and the site of the first sharrow in Kansas City. (A sharrow is a shared lane marking reminding motorists the street is a preferred bike route.)

Tomorrow night, August 20, the city will kick off the parking and traffic study at a meeting of the Hyde Park Neighborhood Association. The study will look at Armour between Broadway and The Paseo.

The meeting will include a presentation from the public works department and a chance for residents to share ideas for increasing on-street parking and encouraging bicycling.
