Runners, cyclists brave the heat for Main Street Day

Despite temperatures pushing 100 degrees, runners, walkers, bikers, skateboarders and others turned out for Main Street Day on Saturday.

The annual MainCor event showcases Main Street businesses and neighborhoods and promotes health and active transportation.

This year, Main Street Day began with a one-mile race from Linwood to St. Paul’s Episcopal Day School. That was followed by the city’s first Cyclovia, a half-day during which Main Street was closed off to automobiles but open to walkers and cyclists.
