Remember to vote in municipal primary and special election

thIt is election day in Kansas City, with voters narrowing down the races in city council elections and voting on several other issues.

Since this is the primary election, the outcome will determine the top two candidates that will continue to the general election in June.

Midtown voters will be voting for the mayor, at-large council members from 6 council districts, and in-district council members from the district where they live.

We’ll also vote on Questions #1, which would allow the sale of 2.5 acres of vacant property near 534 Highland to the University of Medicine and Biosciences. Voters get to decide if the property should be removed from the city’s park and boulevard system.

Question #2, if it passes, would impose a fee designed to reimburse the city for inspecting and regulating payday loan businesses.
