Last week we brought you Midtown Kansas City stories about the future of the airport, little free libraries, and the most endangered historic properties in Kansas City’s urban core.

If you find any of that Midtown Kansas City news interesting, you can read more on our website or on Facebook (try liking our page to get daily news), or sign up on our website for a daily email news digest each weekday. You can also subscribe to our Twitter updates (@midtownkcposter). Meanwhile, planning for the future of Kansas City’s airport continued with the final public meeting to gather input.

The group studying the future of the airport made its recommendation last week, saying Kansas City should build a new airport.

The ATA added 15 new compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles to its fleet, another step toward cleaner air.

At city hall, police reported homicides and crimes against persons and property are all down so far this year.

The Historic Kansas City Foundation was out with its list of the most endangered properties for 2014, including two in Midtown. We also looked back at the history of the St. Regis at Linwood and The Paseo,  called “the most conspicuous building on the skyline” in 1914.

And we gave you an update on the Little Free Library Project, which is spreading across Midtown as more and more neighborhoods get involved.
