At city hall, Kansas City officials said a proposed state law limiting LGBT protection would hurt the city.

The council also heard a proposal to transfer some former school sites and a school building from the district to the city, which could speed up redevelopment.

And the council moved to repair the Bartle Hall “hair curlers,” saying the sky station sculptures have become iconic.
