Races that could impact weekend traffic

Here’s the list of weekend races to be aware of as you try to get around the city:

  • The Walk for Farm Animals will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday.  This walk occurs completely on sidewalks in the area of Theis Park and Rockhill Road. The walk proceeds toward Brookside Boulevard, and then returns along Rockhill Road to Theis Park.  For a race map or more information visit http://kcraceday.org/races/walk-farm-animals/.
  • On Saturday, the Running with the Angels 5k and 10 k will take place beginning in Pleasant Valley at 6816 N.   • The Center School District 2nd Annual Homecoming 5k will also be held Saturday.  The out-and-back route begins at Center High School track. The route will wind through the Center High School parking lot and exit the property going east on East Port Cimi Pas crossing Holmes.   • At 8 a.m. Saturday, the Inspired by Darrell Sublett 5k will take place in the area of 19th Street and Brooklyn  Avenue. For a race map or more information visit http://kcraceday.org/races/inspired-darrell-5k-run/.
