A federal judge in Kansas City on Tuesday sentenced a woman with a history of embezzlement to 22 years.
Susan E. Prophet, 46, of Bucyrus, Kan., pleaded guilty previously to bank fraud and identity theft for stealing $543,000 from Dorfman Plumbing and Supply Co. in downtown Kansas City.

Company officials knew her as Susan Morriss, and she claimed she was the wife of a federal law enforcement agent, “which was true at or close to the time she was hired.”
After she was fired at Dorfman, she worked as a bookkeeper at a Paola, Kan., nursing center and she admitted embezzling at least $188,460 from them.
She used the money for things like trucks, a car, a motorcycle, travel, furniture, electronics, a gym membership and tattoos.
Court records show that Prophet also defrauded several other employers before Dorfman.
She did not reveal her criminal history when hired there or that supervision conditions forbid her working as a bookkeeper.
The judge on Tuesday also ordered her to pay $668,889 in restitution, in addition to surrendering to the plumbing supply company her 2013 Dodge Ram, a 2013 Harley Davidson, a 2008 Ford Focus, a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
