Police release video of gas station shooting

gas-station-shootingPolice ask for help in identifying a suspect who shot a man to death and critically wounded the victim’s 10-year-old son.

Kavyea Curry, also known as Charles Washington, 34, was shot in his car Friday at the BP station at 4501 Cleveland at about 10:09 p.m.

His son, a passenger in the car, and was taken to a hospital with severe injuries. Police said the boy is stable but was paralyzed from the chest down because of spinal damage. They now say there is a chance he will walk again.

An unrelated 5-year-old boy in the car was not injured.

Police released two video clips. One shows the victim walking to the car with the two children and the other shows the suspect walking up to the car.
