Police break up crowd of teens on the Plaza

Police say large crowds of teenagers have been gathered in Mill Creek Park for the past several weekends.

Neighbors have been reporting large crowds of teenagers gathering just off the Plaza for several weeks, and police used a pepper fogger last weekend to break up a crowd in Mill Creek Park.

The Kansas City Star reports the police said they felt it was too dangerous to go into the dark park to break up the group, so they used the irritating spay. Several fights had broken out within the crowd.

Officers aren’t sure what has caused the surge in activities in recent weeks, the Star reports.
