New video helps KC residents become more energy efficient

With air conditioners working overtime, it’s a good time to think about energy savings. Now you can do that, without leaving your cool house. The City of Kansas City is offering a new video tutorial explaining how residents and businesses can benefit from EnergyWork KC (EWKC).

EnergyWorks KC is funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant provided by the U.S. Department of Energy. EWKC offers resources including rebates and varied financing incentives such as a zero percent interest rate for one year toward loans that make suggested energy efficiency improvements affordable. Its goal is to complete 2,000 conversions by April 2013.

In a press release, Denise Dillard of the EnergyWorks staff says the goal of the video is to help Kansas Citians easily understand how they can utilize the program. “EWKC understands the concerns that homeowners and business owners may have about the program, which is why we created this video—to demonstrate just how easy it is for them to complete the energy analysis, make the upgrades and then to receive their rebates,” said Dillard. “The video provides details on how to get in touch with us and what to expect during the process.”
