More bike options on the way

Officials today reported many more miles of bike routes and related changes in the works.

There are plans to add a three-mile bikeway on Armour Boulevard from Broadway to the Paseo, they reported to the mayor and city manager.

And that could just be the beginning of peddle party that could continue on the Paseo.

There will be a 19-mile bikeway on the Paseo from Independence Avenue to 85^th Street, they said,  which would be the longest of its kind in Kansas City.

Also in the works: a total of 100 new bike racks in Westport, on 39^th Street, the Northeast, Brookside and Zona Rosa, along with 10 new bike rental stations between the River Market and Waldo.

And they are going to update the bikeway map by late summer to include many changes and additions.
