Low-income and first generation college students are among those who can get help from the Kansas City Educational Opportunity Center. The center at 3100 Main Street offers assistance with academic counseling, admission applications and even student loan defaults.

The Kansas City Educational Opportunity Center, funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by the Metropolitan Community College, is one of only three EOCs in Missouri. Currently, the program is funded to assist 2427 individuals annually, two-thirds of whom are low-income, potential first generation college students.

Other services it provides include: career counseling and assessment; college planning and selection; college admission application assistance; completion of the FAFSA and other financial aid documents; GED referral and placement; scholarship search guidance; and financial/economic counseling.

The 2015-2016 FAFSA is now available.  Call EOC if you would like assistance with completing the FAFSA or any other financial aid documents 816-604-4400.
