The Plaza lights went on last night, and tonight Mayor Sly James will flip the switch on the Mayor’s Christmas tree. The tree this year is a 100-foot Douglas fir.
James will be joined by Dayton Moore, General Manager of the 2015 World Series Champion Kansas City Royals.
The ceremony takes place at 5:30 p.m. at Crown Center.
The Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund, a nonprofit organization, helps ensure that needy senior citizens, disabled persons and children in Kansas City are not left out during the holidays. The Mayor’s Christmas Tree Fund accepts donations at kcmayor.org/donate.
