Main Street bridge over I-670 reopens today

The Main Street bridge over Interstate 670 is finished and the city says the intersection of Truman Road and Main Street will be open for rush hour today.

The $2.75 million renovation includes a new three-lane concrete bridge with improved vertical clearance, the city says. Construction crews also took advantage of changes to lay the first length of streetcar track on the bridge in early November.

The city says other improvements included in the project are widened sidewalks on the bridge, improved crosswalks and ramps on Truman Road and updated lighting. Decorative fencing will be installed by the end of the year.
