Sure, you have to worry that someone might steal boxes left on your porch, but it seems even trusted postal carriers can go bad.

A federal grand jury on Tuesday indicted a Kansas City postal worker for stealing food stamp debit cards from the mail.

Shawn C. Henderson, 45, is charged with stealing government property, stealing mail and identity theft.

According to court records:

From April 20 to August 7, she removed greeting cards, gift cards and the food stamp debit cards.

In one count, she used a food stamp card by resetting the PIN number and assuming the identity of the rightful owner.

She also used other cards and gave some of them to a person identified only as “E.M.”
