Land Bank seeking advisory board members

vacant propertyThe Land Bank is looking for volunteer 2016 board of advisors members to address the city’s growing number of vacant and abandoned properties.

According to the city, members of the advisory board “will offer recommendations for Land Bank program enhancement and provide information relevant to evolving policy and practices.”

Advisors include representatives of neighborhood and home owner associations, residential construction, remodeling, real estate, banking, fund development, planning and design and marketing professionals.

Kansas City’s Land Bank was established in 2012 to help address the City’s growing number of vacant and abandoned properties. Since then, Land Bank has helped more than 500 homeowners find properties for rehabilitation and occupancy.

Advisors are not paid. Those interested in serving maycontact Ted Anderson at (816) 513-9049. Applications will remain open until the positions are filled.
