KC man faces charges for advertising explosive devices on Facebook

A Kansas City man is facing felony charges for advertising explosives on Facebook.

Police records show James E. Dunlap offered “commercial and improvised explosive devices” for sale on the social media site.

Bomb/arson and gang detectives got in touch with Dunlap and arranged to buy some of the devices. On Tuesday, they went to his home at 4533 E. 60th and bought three of them.

They reported there were another 182 improvised explosive devices in the home. Dunlap also confessed that the 88 grams of marijuana inside his mother’s home were his.
