Expect major traffic delays this weekend as the Waddell & Reed Kansas City Marathon takes over the streets from downtown to 75th Street. The Midtown section of the course includes Main Street, Westport Road, Roanoke Parkway, 47th Street, Volker and Ward Parkway. Several different races are planned beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20. A post-race celebration begins at 1 p.m. at Crown Center.
Race planners are encouraging neighborhoods along the way to get involved by recruiting volunteers and cheering the runners.
