Heads up – water repairs west of the Plaza

Valve repairs near 49th & State Line may affect water service in the area. Water Services crews will continue valve repairs near State Line Road between 49th and 50th streets on Wednesday, July 11. Crews began repairs to the water main and valves at this location on Monday, July 9 at night into Tuesday, July 10 in the morning, but were not able to complete repairs due to difficult subsurface conditions. Crews will return on Wednesday, July 11 to resume repairs. Due to the extra loudness of breaking out the concrete and to minimize water outage, work will begin about 8 p.m. and end about 10 p.m.

Customers in the area along 47th Street to Shawnee Mission Parkway/Brush Creek Parkway and State Line Road to Wyoming Street may have low or no water pressure during the repairs from approximately 8 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11 for site preparation.  If the site preparation is successful, crews will shut the water off again at midnight to begin repairs to the water main. It is anticipated that service will be back on by 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 12.
