Residents around Midtown report seeing utility workers installing new fiber lines in their yards and along the streets.
Installation of the Google Fiber network, begun last year in Kansas City, Kansas, has started on the Missouri side of the state line.
According to Google, installation is in progress in the following Midtown areas:
- Midtown (defined by Google as the area between 31st and Armour, Broadway to Gillham)
- Sunset Hill
- South Plaza West
- Countryside
- Central Hyde Park
- Coleman Highlands
- Country Club District
Other areas are a little further behind in the process. These areas are in the final signup phase, meaning that residents who had pre-registered for Google Fiber should now be picking their plan and signing up for the service by the following deadlines:
- Valentine – Thursday, July 25
- Hanover Place West – Thursday, August 15 (Google defines the area from Armour to 39th, from Broadway to Main as Hanover Place)
- Ward Parkway North – Thursday, August 15
- Volker South – Thursday, August 15
- South Hyde Park – Thursday, August 15
- Ward Parkway Plaza – Thursday, August 15
- Manheim Park – Thursday, August 22
- Volker North – Thursday, August 22
- West Plaza North – Thursday, August 29
- Southmoreland South – Thursday, August 29
- North Hyde Park – Thursday, August 29
- Waldo Homes – Thursday, August 29
- Squier Park – Thursday, August 29
