Fringe festival takes over Midtown venues this week

The 2013 KC Fringe Festival – including 121 artists and 363 performances  – begins this week.

In its 9th year this year, the KC Fringe Festival runs from July 18th to July 28th. This 11-day festival includes live theater, dance, burlesque, performance art, visual art, spoken word, film and fashion along with special components for youth fringe, teen fringe and experimental music.

Midtown venues this year include: Metropolitan Ensemble Theater, 3614 Main; Vulcan’s Forge, 3937 Washington; Westport Coffee Hosue, 4010 Pennsylvania; Plaza Library, 4801 Main; Uptown Arts Bar, 3611 Broadway; Spencer Theater, 4549 Cherry; Prospero’s Uptown Books,3600 Broadway; and Open Fire Pizza, 3951 Broadway.
