Folk hero slander: “Robin Hood” slings heroin

A federal judge in Kansas City today sentenced a heroin dealer who used the alias Robin Hood to 30 years without parole.

Robin M. Sims, 51, was convicted last year of participating in a conspiracy to distribute heroin  from June 2012 to June 2013 and of aiding and abetting co-defendant Amy E. Jones, 52, to distribute heroin.

Sims was also found guilty five counts of distributing heroin and of being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Also from the media release by federal prosecutors:

Evidence included undercover heroin buys and searches of their residence that found heroin, a digital scale and guns.

While officers were serving one search warrant, Sims put a plastic baggie full of heroin in his mouth and swallowed it.

After that, officers found a loaded gun under a bed.

Jones, who did not take the name Maid Marian, was sentenced last year to five years in federal prison.
