Child pornography flows from prison?

Prison did not stop at least one child pornographer, who used cell phones there to distribute “violent and disturbing” material.

A federal judge in Kansas City today sentenced Eric Lee Bederson, 37, to 42 years for distributing child pornography while he was an inmate in a California prison.

He pleaded guilty last year to two counts of distributing the material that included minors as young as 5.

According to a media release by federal prosecutors in Kansas City:

While serving a 16-year sentence for sex crimes with a minor, he used smuggled cell phones to distribute child pornography that included the violent and disturbing images.

He went to prison after the 21-year-old day care teacher had been arrested on suspicion of molesting multiple children and possessing child pornography.

According to court documents, he molested at least 20 children and a civil lawsuit resulted in more than $10 million in damages.

As his release date got near, he started communicating with other child pornographers by e-mail, including an undercover federal agent in Kansas City.

Between Sept. 29 and Oct. 8, 2011, he sent six e-mails to an undercover agent with 164 images and 10 videos of child pornography.

He sent it hoping and expecting that the undercover agent and others would send child pornography back to him.

That is over now, if prison authorities can keep cell phones away from him.
