The Roanoke Park Conservancy is inviting the community to learn more about the new playgrounds in the park. The update will come at a party Friday, March 28 at Prospero’s Uptown Books, 3600 Broadway, beginning at 6 p.m.

Also on the agenda is pizza and beer, socializing, and music by Shannon and the Rhythm Kings.

The park, part of Kansas City’s Parks and Boulevard System, was designed by George Kessler in a woody ravine surrounded by rocky bluffs. For the past several years, neighbors from the adjoining Coleman Highlands, Roanoke, Valentine and Volker neighborhoods have been making plans and working on improvements to the park.
