Boulevard Brewing sold to Belgium brewer

No crying in your beer, but…

Kansas City’s popular Boulevard Brewing Company is being sold,  founder John McDonald told the Kansas City Star today.

While Boulevard’s CFO told the Star he knows many people may be disappointed, he says Boulevard will remain a local brewery and will stay in Kansas City.

And McDonald says, in fact, the deal adds jobs and investment, and Boulevard will continue to be a part of the Kansas City civic community.

The buyer, Belgian brewer Duvel Moortgat, will use the deal to expand its US presence.
