The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels will perform next month when the Kansas City Aviation Expo & Air Show returns to Wheeler downtown airport.
The show comes back after a three-year hiatus and federal budget cuts that grounded the Blue Angels, a jet flight demonstration team.
The show will be on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 22 and Aug 23.
Also from a media release last week:
Among other attractions will be the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team and elite aerial performers, along with static and interactive displays, photo opportunities, a kids zone, food and refreshments.
There will also be a Rise Above Exhibit that celebrates the Tuskegee Airmen and features a P-51C Mustang.
The show is produced by and benefits the non-profit Mid-America Youth Aviation Association, which provides aviation education and opportunities for area youth.
Adult tickets start at $17 a day in advance and can be purchased online at www.kcairshow.com. Children 12 and under will be admitted free in general admission only.
Active duty military personnel with a current military ID get in free on Sunday, Aug. 23, between 9 a.m. and noon.
