ATA begins planning study of Prospect MAX

Bus riders love the MAX Bus Rapid Transit service available on Main Street and Troost.

Last night, the Area Transportation Authority (ATA) offered a preview of what MAX service on Prospect might look like.

General Manager Mark Huffer told people at a meeting that a new planning study is the first step in obtaining federal funding to help with the new line.

“”It has always been a goal of mine to do something major along Prospect,” he said.

The Prospect route is currently has the second highest ridership, with the Troost line being the most used.

Danny O’Conner, Director of Planning, says the MAX service on has increased ridership on both Main and Troost and is expected to increased use on Prospect as well.
