Creaky old Midtown homes can be drafty, especially during these bitterly cold days, but eligible homeowners can get some help.

The city’s home weatherization program offers services to households that meet income guidelines. It can offer repair or replacement of furnaces; ductwork; repair of windows and doors; and caulking, weather stripping and insulation for sidewalls and attics.

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources established and monitors the program criteria. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Kansas City Power & Light, Missouri Gas Energy, Aquila, Ameren UE, Independence Power and Light and Empire Electric provide funding for the program.
