The Kansas City Public Schools district plans to unveil at least two competing proposals to sell and redevelop Westport High School and Westport Middle School at a public hearing later this month, The Hyde Parker has learned.
From 9 a.m. to noon at Redeemer Fellowship (3921 Baltimore St.) on Aug. 25, KCPS’ repurposing team plans to host presentations from at least two developers based on bids submitted in May.
One proposed plan would use the two schools for several purposes – a charter school, urban agricultural initiative and on-site housing for teachers. We don’t have details yet about the other.
