A message from the (city) taxman

The city wants to remind taxpayers and businesses of a few upcoming tax deadlines.

• All business license renewals and payments are due Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013. Once the appropriate tax forms and payments have been received and processed, taxpayers will receive their 2013 business license.
• The Employer’s Annual Reconciliation of Earnings Tax Withheld is due Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013. All W-2 forms are also due at this time. W-2 information can be submitted electronically via the City’s online portal at www.kcmo.org/w2.
• Taxpayers will have until Monday, April 15, 2013 to file and pay their Wage Earner’s Earnings Tax. The Revenue Division mailed an informational postcard to all wage earner taxpayers currently in the City’s tax database. This postcard has specific filing instructions, including information on how to use the City’s free, online system to file and pay the Wage Earner’s Earnings Tax.

All Kansas City, Mo., tax forms can be obtained via the City’s website at www.kcmo.org/tax. Hard copies of forms will also be made available on the second floor of City Hall (414 E. 12th St. Kansas City, MO, 64106).
