$4000 rewards paid for info on highway shootings

police-department copyTwo people received $4,000 rewards each last week for providing information that led officers to arrest Mohammed P. Whitaker in the recent highway shooting investigation, according to Kansas City police.

“Community cooperation was integral to solving this case, as it is in so many other things our department does,” Chief Darryl Forté said in a media release today.

The two called police at different times and provided critical information to investigators. They split the $8,000 reward put up by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

Whitaker has been charged with 18 felony counts related to the shootings.
