The speaker at Saturday’s BikeWalkKC Women’s Bike Summit thinks for women, bikes can be empowering as well as enjoyable.
Ren Barger founded Tulsa Hub which offers low-or-no-cost reconditioned bikes and gear to indigent adults who need transportation. She’ll also discuss her personal efforts to “change lives through cycling” and answer questions about running a bike-based business or organization.
There will be classes and workshops for all ages and ability levels including what to wear on a bike, to how to choose a bike and how to be safe on a bike.

- BikeWalkKC will hold their annual Women’s Bike Summit Saturday September 19, from 8:15 to 4:30 p.m. at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center, 4801 Rockhill Road.
- Attendees are encouraged to register While no person will be turned away from the door, there is a suggested donation of $25, which must be paid in advance. Breakfast, lunch and childcare are included.
