Winter storm: Some buses running this afternoon

Many people are finding the best way to get around in Midtown today is by foot. If you need to use the bus service, we have the most recent update.

Here’s an update on bus service for this afternoon’s rush hour from the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority.

Due to improving road conditions, the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (ATA) has announced it will provide additional bus service on the routes currently operating beginning at 3 p.m. today. The additional service will help more people make their return trip home this afternoon, although full service will not be restored until Wednesday.

Metro bus customers can contact the Regional Call Center at (816) 221-0660 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays.
As a reminder, the following express routes are not operating today:
  • 15X Truman Road Express
  • 28X Blue Ridge Express
  • 37XX N. Broadway Express
  • 38X Meadowbrook Express
  • 51X Ward Parkway Express
  • 69X Liberty Express
  • 471X Red Bridge Express
  • 170 Blue Springs Express
  • 152 Lee’s Summit/Raytown Express
  • Metro routes serving Kansas City, Kan., will be suspending service at 1 p.m. at the request of the Unified Government.
In addition, Johnson County Transit and Unified Government Transit suspended all service today and Inde-Bus in Independence has suspended service until further notice.
