Mill Creek Park is the closest thing we have to a central gathering place in Midtown Kansas City. We go there to exercise, for picnics and to sit quietly and rest. The Nichols Fountain, at the corner of Broadway and 47th Street, draws bridal parties for pictures, is the go-to spot for political protests, and gets dyed various colors for various causes. On Sept. 16, 2012, the Midtown KC Post took a stroll through the park and gathered this montage.
