Westport Center for the Arts’ Kids Team Up for Art begins its fall session at the Plaza, Southeast, North-East, Waldo and Bluford branches of the Kansas City Public Library in October.

Participants work collaboratively to create one large project using common art supplies and recycled and “found” materials. In the past, workshop groups have constructed mosaics, towering sculptures, collage self-portraits and custom footwear.

Workshops are from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at:

  • Plaza Branch, 4801 Main Street, on Oct. 11, Nov. 8 and Dec. 6
  • Southeast Branch, 6242 Swope Parkway, on Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20
  • North-East Branch, 6000 Wilson Road, on Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20
  • Waldo Branch, 201 East 75th Street, on Oct. 25, Nov. 22 and Dec. 20
  • Lucille H. Bluford Branch, 3050 Prospect, on Nov. 22 and Dec. 13
