Vietnamese-French bistro opens on Broadway

iPho-grand-openingSpike Nguyen on Thursday formally opened his new Vietnamese-French bistro in Midtown.

The iPho Tower restaurant at 3623 Broadway expands on his successful Vietnamese restaurant in the Northeast area.

The modern and sleek upgrade to what was once Sidney’s Diner is in the south end of Midtown’s Beaux-Arts Barclay Building, which dates to the 1920s.

And on Thursday, the band Victor & Penny played songs from that era, mixed with an occasional French song. Dancing dragons also made an appearance.

Nguyen said recently that he will also rename his Pho Hoa restaurant on Independence Avenue iPho Tower and also serve a fusion of Vietnamese and French food there.
