Street closures scheduled for music festival and race

The Rockfest music festival on Saturday will close a number of streets around Penn Valley Park. In addition, there will be a race in the southern part of Midtown.

Rockfest promoters expect more than 50,000 people at the largest one-day music festival in the country.

Here are the road closures you should be aware of:

  • Kessler Road between Pershing Road and Main Street (May 7-14, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
  • 29th Street between Penn Valley Drive and Wyandotte Street (May 7-14, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
  •  Main Street between Pershing Road and 27th Street (May 11 at 4 a.m. through May 12 at 1 a.m.)
  • Wyandotte Street between Memorial Drive and 31st Street (May 11 at 4 a.m. through May 12 at 1 a.m.)

On Saturday, May 11, the Run Mom Run will begin at 9 a.m. at Visitation School, 5134 Baltimore Ave.  Street closures include:

  • Main Street between 51st and 52nd streets (7-10:30 a.m.)
  • Rolling closures (9-10:30 a.m.) Runners will head south on Main Street from 51st Street to 58th Terrace; west on 58th Terrace; south on Wyandotte Street; west on Huntington Road; and north on Summit Street. Summit Street curves east turning into 52nd Street and continues onto 51st Street and south to Main Street to conclude the race at Visitation School.
