Giant stages are being set up at the Liberty Memorial in preparation for Rockfest, the biggest one-day rock festival in the country. About 50,000 tickets have been sold and fans are pouring in to hotels in Midtown and across the city.
The doors open at 11 a.m. on Saturday and the festival goes on until 11 p.m. with a fireworks show as the finale.
This year, Rockfest features 15 bands on two stages. Music fans can even get married at the festival at the annual mass wedding.
If you need to get around in Midtown on Saturday, streets will be closing just after midnight on Friday. (see map below)
After the festival, organizers will have a 16-person crew cleaning the area surrounding the festival beginning on the 31st and continuing on June 1.
For crowd control, there will be a central command post, and more than 60 officers on site. Overnight security includes police officers and continues through Monday, June 2.
