School district offering updates on potential student transfers

As the Kansas City School District reacts to a court decision on student transfers, it has put up a special webpage where people can follow new developments.

The district is posting frequently asked questions, saying it wants to make sure the community is well informed about the ramifications of accreditation and potential student transfers. The district will post the latest information there, and link to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) transfer guidelines are also available, and letters from Superintendent R. Stephen Green.

So far, the page explains that the school district became unaccredited in January 2012, the impact on graduation and scholarships, whether this means there will be a state takeover, and what the district plans to do about the status.
