Rescheduled dates for school master planning input

school-district-logoThe Kansas City School District had to reschedule its first meeting to ask people for community input to help it increase student achievement and enrollment. But it has set new dates and is allowing people to text their input to help create a new master plan.

The district says it is conducting “a master planning study to maximize opportunities for student achievement and to increase enrollment by delivering the best academic and extra-curricular programs possible within the available financial resources.”

Here’s more from KCPS:

Join your neighbors in one of our community conversations about the future needs of Kansas City Public Schools. You are invited to attend the session closest to your home/school or you can attend any session. In addition, if it’s more convenient, you can provide your input on-line at masterplan@kcpublicschools.org or using a text-based survey tool.

Each session includes the following activities:

  • Information – What you need to know about the master plan currently underway.
  • Input – An opportunity for each person to provide input.  You will be given an electronic “clicker” to use to respond to a series of questions about KCPS’ needs and priorities.
  • Exploration – A small group facilitated discussion designed to allow time to explore the issues identified earlier in the session.
