Pop-up parvo clinic offers vaccinations for dogs

parvoSpay and Neuter KC is offering dog owners two pop-up parvo prevention clinics in October.

The organization says since 2013, the local shelter has seen 123 puppies with the deadly virus.

Canine parvovirus is highly contagious and can be deadly, according to the group. The virus can affect all dogs but it is the most damaging to unvaccinated dogs and puppies younger than four months old. There is no specific cure for parvo and most deaths occur within 48 to 72 hours.

The pop-Up clinic is planned for Oct. 3rd and Oct. 24th at Cypress Park at the intersection of 30th and Cypress Ave. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Spay and Neuter KC is offering $10 DA2PP (distemper+parvo) vaccinations for dog owners.
